KAROO NEWS - After a report in Graaff-Reinet Advertiser recently on the u.12 netball team of Narsingstraat Primary School that needed funds to take part in the national championships in Gauteng, an extremely generous donation from the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality (DBNLM) has made the dream come true.
Mayor Willem Safers came in person to hand over R30 000 to the school to help cover the costs.
The team is the only one in the DBNLM that will represent the Eastern Cape at the national championships.
"The architects get all the praise but the builders to the hard work," said Safers as he congratulated the team on their journey. "Go and enjoy the experience; if you don't win this year your coach will make sure you win next year. We are proud of you girls."
The team left early on Wednesday morning, 10 July, to be there in time for the weekend's championships.
