GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A 31-year old man was recently arrested for the murder of his 26-year-old girlfriend in Umasizakhe, Graaff-Reinet.
Captain Bradley Rawlinson, Graaf-Reinet police spokesperson, said the man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death on 14 December at about 4pm.
Rawlinson confirmed that the victim and suspect were in a relationship. The motive for the murder is unknown.
The suspect will appear before the Graaff- Reinet Magistrate’s Court on 17 December, facing a murder charge.
The name and surname of the victim has been withheld until her family has been notified.
Graaff-Reinet Cluster Commander, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph, expressed his shock, and congratulated the police for their swift actions to arrest the suspect.
