KAROO NUUS - Dennis Fortuin has been officially appointed as the Head of Protection Services in the DBNLM district, starting from 1 November.
He had been acting in this role from April to October and has an impressive background in the field.
Fortuin's journey traces back to 1996 when he graduated from Spandau Secondary School. After his school years, he gained practical experience working at a local firm in Graaff-Reinet.
In 2002, he embarked on his educational path and successfully acquired his Diploma in Traffic from the Gene Louw Traffic College by 2003.
Over the years, Dennis honed his skills in various towns and furthered his studies there, eventually returning to Graaff-Reinet in 2016.
His vision for the department is clear - he aims to foster the growth of his staff from within, make a tangible impact on reducing unlawful activities, reclaim roads from unauthorised users, and restore a sense of safety for all road users. Fortuin's primary goal is to influence policies and drive positive changes within the DBNLM district.
His appointment is met with high expectations, as he brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to enhancing the region's safety and road management.
