GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A 20-year-old man was killed instantly when he was hit by a bus travelling on the N9 between Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg on Thursday evening, 17 January.
The accident happened at 18:20 near New Location, 1.6km outside of Graaff-Reinet.
The man, a herdsman who was taking cattle across the national road, was hit by a bus which was en route from Umtata to Cape Town.
Three cows and two calves were also killed.
Neither the name of the deceased, nor that of his employer, has been released by the police.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened against the driver of the bus.
