GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Little to no running water from your households taps? You are not alone.
According to Acting Spokesperson for the Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality, Wilca Smith, the water shortage is due to Eskom power interruptions and last week’s heatwave.
“The reservoirs take approximately three days to fill up after interruptions,” Smith told the Graaff-Reinet Advertiser on Monday afternoon. Graaff-Reinet experienced load shedding on Saturday evening at 7pm until about 9.30pm.
According to Smith, the municipality had received complaints of little running water in Umasizakhe, parts of Kroonvale and parts of the Horseshoe area.
The municipality has been asked if they will supply areas in need with water. This article will be updated once a response is received.
