GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The electricity supply to some areas in Graaff-Reinet is currently interrupted due to cable theft in the Santaville area.
The Dr Beyers Naudé municipality has published a notice ensuring the community that preparation of the vandalised infrastructure and restoration of the electricity supply to these areas are underway.
The municipal team is busy with hand excavations for the installation of new poles as some poles have also been cut down.
According to the municipality, the electricity is expected to be recovered tomorrow.
Community members are urged to be on the lookout and report those who make themselves guilty of vandalism and theft of infrastructure to the police.
