SOMERSET-EAST NEWS - Four suspects between the ages of 26 and 48 are expected to appear before the Somerset-East Magistrates Court soon following their arrests for allegedly being in possession of live rounds of ammunition and drugs.
The Somerset East Vispol Police conducted a stop-and-search operation in Mnandi Location, Somerset East, on Friday 28 May and found a 26-year-old suspect in possession of three live rounds of ammunition.
While the operation continued in Mnandi location a 29-year-old suspect was found to be in possession of three straws which contained Tik with an estimated street value of R180.
A 31-year-old man was later found to be in possession of three full mandrax tablets as well as crushed mandrax with an estimated street value of R360.
Later the evening the operational team arrested a 48-year-old man for the possession of mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R240. The suspect was also in possession of a substantial amount of cash.
Somerset East Station Commander, Captain Zukiswa Mzalisi, thanked the members for their positive attitude they had shown during operation Vhutu Hawe and for the arrests and recovery of drugs and ammunition.
