COOKHOUSE NEWS - In the second drug bust in Cookhouse in as many days, local police arrested a 31-year-old man in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R51 000.
Following a lead on Thursday 21 January at 15:30, members of the Cookhouse Crime Prevention unit members set up a vehicle check point on the N10.
The unit stopped and searched a white Quantum taxi traveling in the direction of Cradock and found 350 Mandrax tablets and 100 grams of tik on the suspect.
On Wednesday the Cookhouse police arrested a 47-year-old man in possession of drugs, cash and stolen goods at a house in Bongweni in the town.
According to Police Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson both men will appear in the Somerset East Magistrates Court soon.
