KAROO NEWS - The police have had their hands full this past week:
Graaff-Reinet
Assault with grievous bodily harm
• A man was treated for an open wound to his head after the attacker alleged that he stole his dagga plants. The suspect is known to the complainant.
• A Man went to a business in Church Street to buy electricity. He had an altercation with a woman in the shop when she stabbed him with a knife.
• A 56-year-old complainant alleges that on 4 August his 30-year-old son was assaulted by his employer at his workplace in Church Street. His son sustained injuries to his head after been hit with a blunt object.
Malicious damage to property
A female complainant from Palm Street said she was at her residence when her daughter's ex-boyfriend came to the residence and started to throw stones at the residence, causing damage to the windows.
Stock theft
A farmer from Roodebloem Farm reported that between 30 and 31 August, four goats worth R8 000 were removed and slaughtered by unknown suspects near the grazing fields.
Attempted burglary
A worker at a pre-school in Stockenstroom Street said that on 3 August at 2pm she departed from the school. On 4 August, when she returned, somebody tried to break into the school by damaging a window with a sharp object.
Burglary residence
A female complainant reported that between 3 August at 11.30pm and 4 August at 12.30am she was at her residence at Kudu Park, where all was in order. While sleeping, she woke to something moving in the house.
She went to investigate and saw a male suspect jumping through an open window and running away. She found that her cellphone and bottles of wine were stolen.
Theft out of a motor vehicle
A complainant reported that on 3 August his vehicle was parked in the yard of his residence in Tulip Street, Asherville. On 4 August at 7.30am, he noticed that the vehicle bonnet was forced open and that the battery was removed.
Theft general
A woman from Asherville reported that on 3 August at 7pm, her cellphone was taken from her residence by a person known to her.
Aberdeen
Contravention of a protection order
A 23-year-old female complainant reported that on 3 August at 9.30am, while at her residence at Violet Street, her ex-boyfriend whom she had a protection order against, contravened the order by insulting her.
Assault with grievous bodily harm
The complainant reported, that while he was at an entertainment spot in Cathcart Street, he was followed to the toilet by an unknown male who assaulted him. When the victim was walking home the suspect again assaulted him and stabbed him in the stomach. The complainant was admitted to the hospital.
