Graaff-Reinet
Burglary
- Between 10 and 11 September, a tablet, cellphone, money and counting machine was stolen after someone forced open the security door to a residence.
- On 15 September at 2pm, a suspect gained entry to a residence at Piet Retief Street, by forcing the burglar gate open, and stole one amplifier, a DVD player and meat from the fridge.
- Between 14 and 15 September, while the complainant was away from his residence at Oliver Dippenaar Street, suspects entered by damaging the security gate at the kitchen and removed a laptop and TV.
- On 16 September at 11.20am, the complainant alleges that an unknown suspect opened the gate to his shop and took food items, wood, and cigarettes from his shop in Santaville.
Use of vehicle without the owner's consent
The complainant reports that on 14 September at 9.30pm, he was away from his residence on a farm near Graaff-Reinet. Upon his return, he found that a 27-year-old man, who is known to him, took his car and damaged it.
Robbery
A 30-year-old woman reports that on 14 September at 3am at her residence in Asherville, she woke up to find a person near her with a knife in his hand, demanding money and her cellphone. On receiving the items, the 53-year-old male suspect ran out of the house but was later arrested and the stolen items were handed back to the complainant.
Theft out of a motor vehicle
A 63-year-old woman reports that items were stolen from her car, which was parked on Parsonage Street.
Assault with grievous bodily harm
A man reports that on 15 September at 10.20am, he was sitting with a friend, when a suspect came to him and assaulted him for no reason.
Theft
A dog owner alleged that between 30 August and 15 September, his dogs were stolen from his residence at River Street. Eyewitnesses were able to identify three young men who had entered the complainant's residence.
Aberdeen
Assault
A man alleged that on 14 September at 3pm, he was on the farm in the area when a person who is known to him tried to cause injury to the complainant by use of a motor vehicle.
Stock theft
Between 13 and 16 September, angora goats were in their grazing camps, all in order. When the complainant returned, he found that three of the goats had been slaughtered in the grazing grounds.
