GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Wednesday afternoon, 6 March, the third round of the Bowls Business League was played on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club.
Only four teams remain unbeaten, and they are: Profcon on six game points and + 15 shots; Slater & Dutch - 6 + 11; Build It - 6 + 7 and Nel Boerdery on 6 + 4.
There are 12 sides with four game points waiting for the frontrunners to slip in the next three rounds.
Graaff-Reinet fours
The Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club's fours competition for men and women was played on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club on Saturday 9 March.
Three teams entered the men's competition and the women also fielded three sides.
The competition was played on a round-robin basis and the winners were:
- Men - Fanie van der Merwe, Eric Louw, Robert Scott and Stefan Ittershagen-Strauss on 4 game points and + 18 shots.
- Women - Di Short, Yvonne McLaggan, Corrie van Zyl and Lynette Ittershagen-Strauss on 4 game points and + 10 shots.
Inter-districts
Congratulations to Ulrich Steynberg and Arthur Langley who, on representing the Eastern Province B side, picked up silver in a competition over five days, against sides from bowling districts throughout South Africa.
