ABERDEEN NEWS - The Aberdeen Rugby Club recently hosted a very entertaining drag queen competition. Rugby club members dressed up as drag queens and competed against one another for the ultimate Drag Queen title.
To the amusement of those in attendance, both Marius Frazenburg, principal of Aberdeen Secondary School who judged the competition, and Romario Saaiman who acted as MC, were also dressed up as drag queens.
It was a fun evening that saw Renaldo Martins was crowned as Aberdeen Rugby Club’s Drag Queen. Marshall Kombella was the runner-up and Arlen Jantjies took the third place.
“This competition was an attempt to raise funds for the club’s travel expenses for the remainder of the rugby season,” explained Frazenburg. “Creative fundraising initiatives are necessary for the survival of the Aberdeen Rugby Club as 60% of the members are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet.”
