GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Nobantu Jack is a remarkable woman with a big heart who many years ago made an even bigger promise to herself: "I will be a nurse and save lives, no matter what."
These were the touching words she shared at her surprise birthday and retirement party held at Bush Place on a sunny Saturday, 3 February.
Surrounded by family, friends and colleagues, Jack couldn't have been happier to celebrate this special occasion.
Her retirement day was filled with mixed emotions as her colleagues bid her farewell.
They took the time to acknowledge and honour her outstanding contributions to the health sector, particularly in the Camdeboo sub-district where she served tirelessly.
Lesley Welman, speaking on behalf of the sub-district staff, expressed gratitude for Jack's dedication. Her journey began as a psychiatric nurse at the Graaff-Reinet Community Health Centre in Santaville in July 1989.
Over the years, she took on various roles, including clinic supervisor and TB manager, showcasing her commitment and leadership.

Outside of her work in the health sector, she also dedicated her time to serving the community through the children's ministry at the Luzipho Congregational Church in uMasizakhe.
Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and service will continue to inspire generations to come. Her commitment to saving lives has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her, but for now she intends to take a few months of rest before embarking on a new journey.
