GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Camdeboo vs Mayaya FC ended in a draw in the ABC Motsepe League Match recently.
Camdeboo Football Academy Development FC clashed with Mayaya FC at the botanical garden’s sportsgrounds.
Both teams strove to win the game, and though Camdeboo was better prepared, they could not keep the momentum up to win. The game ended 3-3.
Camdeboo and Mayaya lie on the bottom of the stream log and are teetering on the edge of relegation.
The Academy lost 4-0 against Amavarara FC on the very same home ground. This time, however, Camdeboo had prepared themselves to win the game, with some new faces who came out very strong in the first half, trying several times to test the goalkeeper for a goal, but the visiting team did not give up so easily, and put on a strong defence.
The momentum continued when Camdboo led with a goal in the first half, but Mayaya returned a goal just before the end of the first half, and both teams were level on 1-1.
The second half started with Academy showing great determination to win. They had just scored the second goal and led 2-1.
Mayaya never stopped fighting back, and soon levelled the score 2-2.
It was once again Academy who made a terrible attack to make it 3-2, but Mayaya did not give, and levelled the game 3-3 before the end of the final whistle.
Camdeboo has now moved to position 9 with 17 points and Mayaya FC to position 7 with 18 points.
The home team will be meeting Seven Stars FC in Queenstown for their last game of the season this Saturday, 22 March.
