GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Relief organisation Gift of the Givers will be in Graaff-Reinet today, and the entire community is invited to give them a warm Karoo welcome at Angel Park at 11am.
According to Imtiaz Sooliman, director of the organisation, three trucks laden with water and three water tankers will arrive in town.
“The town is on its knees and drastic intervention is urgently required," he explained.
Corene Conradie, founder of Graaff-Reinet Water Crises, urged the community to attend the official handover.
“We would love to fill the park to welcome [Gift of the Givers], as well as have some people lining the route along Church Street to cheer them along,” she said, adding that the event was non-political.
The Advertiser will attend the handover and keep readers updated.
