Graaff-Reinet don't fear Friday the 13th

GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Coming Friday is the 13th and superstition that Friday the 13th is a day to stay at home, sit still and do not cross the street because the luck won't be on your side, seems not to cross the mind of Graaff-Reinet residents.

In Graaff-Reinet it is clear that residents do not believe a ladder will fall on you if you walk underneath it.

Nor do they believe that if a black cat crosses your path, something bad will happen with you.

Mirrors that break on Friday the 13th will also just be fixed because in Graaff-Reinet the people seem not to be superstitious about a broken mirror.

Some even describe Friday the 13th the luckiest day on the calendar.

Micheal Visagie: I do not believe in such things. I go my way just like any other normal day.

Lynette McNaughton: I am not superstitious at all. The fact that coming Friday is the 13th did not even cross my mind.

Tommie Jacobus: I'm not scared at all. It's just an ordinary number 13. Why should we be afraid of that day and not of others? I fear nothing with the Lord.
