Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - This Saturday 27 April will see the first of what is planned as a regular feature on the Graaff-Reinet calendar, a monthly community market in Angel Park gardens.
This is a job creation initiative by the Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality, with backing from private donors. The aim is to provide a venue and facilities for local small entrepreneurs and crafters to display their wares and interact with the public, with music and food to entertain visitors and give exposure to local talent.
A variety of arts and crafts, such as wire work, knitted items and woodwork will be on offer, with unusual beauty products as well as a tantalising selection of baked goods and takeaway foods.
Activities, including face-painting, will be available to keep the children amused, and an entertainment programme will run throughout the day.
Live performances include a marimba band, a brass band, and well-known local entertainers, with a DJ on hand to ensure a good vibe.
The market will be open from 10:00 until 15:00.
