GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Miss Commonwealth SA, Shanika Bongela, visited Graaff-Reinet to crown the 2019 Miss Christadelphians, at Spandau Secondary School on 29 November.
Nicola Jacobs took the crown, with Caitlin Elias first runner-up and Petronella Mabea the second princess. Bongela surprised Jacobs by awarding an automatic entry for the 2020 Miss SA competition.
Bongela advised the models to balance their careers and modelling. "It is important to focus on your books and be successful in your career while being a model."
"Never give up. Even if you fall, stand up. Wipe the dust and move on," she told the models. She added that they must always appreciate who they are, because identity plays a big role in life. "Self-confidence will drive you towards success."
For those who don't make it as a model, she said they must remember that everyone is gifted and within all of us is a special gift that nobody else has.
