GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Gift of the Givers and PakTech Foods are hard at work feeding the hungry in Graaff-Reinet, but they need the help of others to make a success of their project.
Azeem Akram of PakTech Foods cooks for 150 people daily and provides lunch and dinner for 28 people at the Kroonvale haven.
Corene Conradie, of Gift of the Givers, joined hands with PakTech to help keep the pot boiling.
Conradie and her team also have to drive to surrounding towns to feed the elderly in old age homes, patients at home and even in hospitals, as well as people who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown regulations.
Conradie and Akram urge business people and individuals to support them to feed people daily, until they are back on their feet. Akram says it can be a long process, but if Graaff-Reinet stands together, the town can stay afloat.
Anybody who is willing to donate to the project can phone Conradie (079 226 6916) or Akram (074 513 4645).
Those in need can also contact them.
