WILLOWMORE NEWS - The Willowmore Provincial Hospital has once again been forced to close its doors, as another staff member, as well as a member of their immediate family, has tested positive for Covid-19. They will be in isolation in their home for 14 days.
The hospital will again be thoroughly sanitised, and according to a message published by Joanie van Staden, the acting CEO, they hope to reopen again on Wednesday.
In the meantime, all emergencies will be taken to either Aberdeen Hospital or Midland Hospital in Graaff-Reinet.
Cllr EwaldLoock urged members of the community to stay calm and observe all the necessary hygiene and social distancing measures, staying at home where possible. “We appreciate the openness of the CEO in keeping the community informed, as this helps stop the spread of rumours,” said Loock. “The health staff at the hospital is in complete control of the situation, and we wish them strength in this difficult situation,” he added.
EC health spokesperson Siyanda Manana has not yet responded to a request for further information.
