GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Two Union High School musicians have been awarded with distinctions for passing their Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams with flying colours.
Melissa Swart, a Grade 11 learner, and Erin Gedult, a Grade 7 learner, were awarded merit certificates for their respective accomplishments.
Swart passed the ABRSM Grade 2 Music Theory exam with 96 per cent and Gedult passed her Grade 2 Piano exam with distinction.
Union High School’s spokesperson, Mariëtte Burger, says both learners were handed their certificates during the school’s assembly on Friday morning, 17 January.
Both learners’ music teachers, Ms Zelda van Rooyen and Mrs Sanette Brink, applauded the learners for their great achievements.
“We are incredibly proud of them, they worked really hard towards their exams - well done!”
