GRAAFF-REINET NEWS – The Dr Beyers Naudé Municipal Council’s 2017 – 2022 IDP must be subjected to an annual review and, as part of the Municipality’s undertaking to keep communities involved and informed, they have commenced with a public participation programme that provides opportunity for all Wards to re-assess their situation and also to review their Ward Development Priorities.
The programme is led by Ward Councillors as part of their regular community meetings and the item dealing with the Development Priorities is facilitated by an IDP Official.
Following the meeting held in the Graaff-Reinet Town Hall last night, a meeting will be held in this regard for the Ward 2 residents in Nieu-Bethesda today, Tuesday, September 12, in the Pienaarsig Community Hall.
This will be followed by Ward 4’s meeting on Wednesday, September 13, in the Umasizakhe Community Hall.
All meetings are scheduled to start at 17:00.
Further afield Wards 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 will be holding their community meetings in the towns of Willowmore, Klipplaat, Jansenville and Steytlerville next week from September 11 to 14, followed by Ward 8 (which includes Rietbron and Baviaanskloof) the week after.
