GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - In what is described by family and friends of the victims as a horrific crime against children, two girls under the age of 10 were raped in Umasizakhe.
Graaff-Reinet Police spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, confirmed this morning (16 July) that the incident took place on the evening of 13 July.
The suspect is known to the victims and their family, but is still at large. The children are receiving counselling and medical treatment.
Rawlinson said the investigation is at a sensitive stage and no further information may be released at this stage.
The Advertiser has learned that the girls were raped in the same house, but information to whom the house belongs to is withheld from publication.
