GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - During the recent final of the 2017 Premier Hockey League Championships (PHL), played at the Randburg Astro on Tuesday, December 12, the Orange River Rafters were crowned the women's champions of this exciting tournament.
Two Old Unionites - Sulette Damons and Kelsey Minnaar - were part of this winning team.
“I don’t think anyone would have thought we’d be champions. We just went in with hope and luck and faith.
"We finished bottom last year so to win this competition is just awesome,” said a thrilled Rafters captain Sulette Damons, who finished as the tournament’s top goal scorer.
Well done to these two Old Unionite champs!
