GRAAFF-REINET NEWSFLASH - This past Saturday, 15 September, the first ever Tracks4Cancer event was held in Graaff-Reinet.

This fundraising initiative was organised in support of the Graaff-Reinet and District Cancer Association and saw residents turn up in their numbers to support this worthy cause.

Graaff-Reinetters had the opportunity to enter either a 3km, 5km or 11km run/walk or a 45km MTB challenge with a special route mapped out for disabled athletes as well.

Residents with road bikes, off-road bikes, vintage cars or 4X4 vehicles also had various routes they could traverse to choose from.

After the final count was tallied, the organisers are very pleased to report that altogether 337 people participated in the event.

The 5km walk/run had the biggest turnout with 109 participants in total.
