KAROO NEWS - Ruth-2 Music Ministry is hosting a day retreat for women at the Karoo Community Church at 63 Somerset Street on Saturday 13 May from 08:30 to 14:30. Tea and a light lunch are included.
The ministry is sharing a message of hope for those who are struggling and do so through song, word and testimony.

Jenie Knott-Craig and Linda Joubert have both performed professionally in 5-star venues, locally and internationally.
Linda started very young, at the age of 4, playing for her dad’s Sunday school by ear. She has synaesthesia, which means she sees music in colours.
Jenie has sung all her life, from choirs and bands to shows and also starred in a children’s TV programme back in the day. Years later she won an award for an original gospel song, Interior Decorator.
The pair teamed up three years ago after discovering they lived in the same street as well as having many parallels in their lives. Linda came along to a ladies meeting at Jenie’s home and afterward, shyly stated that she played the piano.
They went through to the music room and jammed together. Without any rehearsal, the harmonies and the song geography just happened and they knew that they had something special. Ruth-2 was formed and as time went on, they started drawing on their originals and songwriting ability to further the vision and calling.
They play for functions and do gigs for extra income as and when they arise, but their hearts are in ministry. They have ministered in various parts of South Africa, from NPOs to women’s retreats and churches.
Many have commented that as they sing and play, they experience the presence of God, receive blessing and are uplifted.
An element that makes this unique, is the fact that they do not command a fee as such. They trust in God for their funds, which sometimes come through the selling of the books they have written, gigs, donations and most recently, their new album.
