KAROO NEWS - Cookhouse SAPS are investigating a case of culpable homicide, following the death of three people in a four-truck collision on the N10 outside Cookhouse on 22 October.
Two passengers and one driver succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were 20, 36 and 39.
According to Capt Bradley Rawlinson, the spokesperson for the policing district, the accident occurred at 09:30, about 19km outside of Cookhouse. All four trucks were en route to Port Elizabeth.
It is alleged that one of the trucks tried to overtake the others, according to a statement by the Eastern Cape Department of Transport. "The vehicles may have slowed down or hit the breaks for whatever reason, causing a domino effect when one truck rammed into the back-end of another," the statement read.
Rawlinson said on Monday 26 October that there were no new developments in the case.
