GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Union High School has long enjoyed a wonderful learner exchange programme with Salisbury Cathedral School, a 900-year-old school in Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK, with its incomparable setting beneath the famous spire of Salisbury Cathedral.
The school is one of the oldest educational establishments in the world, founded in 1091 by St Osmund, nephew of William the Conqueror and Bishop of Salisbury, to educate the choristers of his Cathedral at Old Sarum.
The schools' exchange programme provides a unique opportunity for some of Union's Grade 7 learners to take part in an exchange scheme.
After having spent the second term of this year at Salisbury, Union wishes to welcome back Amber Binney, Corniel Vorster, Marli Brummer and Daniel Nell, who had the opportunity this year to take part in the Salisbury Exchange Programme.
The Grade 7 Union learners lucky to have been chosen to spend the second term of 2018 in Salisbury and who are thrilled about this once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity is Jemma Naude (daughter of Grant and Tamaryn Naude of Hanover), Anna Pringle (daughter of William and Catherine Pringle of Graaff-Reinet), Jude Langmead (son of David and Bronwen Langmead of Nieu-Bethesda) and Brent Hesselink (son of Martin and Kay Hesselink of Murraysburg).
Congratulations to Gemma Naude, Anna Pringle, Jude Langmead and Brent Hesselink for being selected to take part in the Salisbury Exchange Programme during 2018.
