KAROO NEWS - This photograph of a massive swarm of locusts was taken on Thursday morning (18 March) on the road between Middelburg and Schoombie, about 30km outside Middelburg. 

Locust swarms have been spotted across large parts of the Eastern and Northern Cape. 

Spray teams are doing what they can to combat the plague. 

Contact Christoff Vermeulen (072 417 1065) to report swarms in the Middelburg area and Philip Kemp (082 970 3599) if you spot locust swarms in the Graaff-Reinet area.
