GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - As a Covid-19 precautionary measure, the St James Anglican Church fair in Graaff-Reinet has been cancelled. Instead, an online market will be held over four days.
The well-known fair would’ve taken place on 28 November.
“We were looking forward to the fair, but given the amount of Covid-19 cases in Graaff-Reinet and surrounds, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel the event,” said one of the organisers, Felicity Minnaar. “This decision is the safest choice,” she added.
A virtual fair will instead be held on the GRandKAROO Facebook page, hosted by Nicola Beldon, from Wednesday 25 November to Sunday 29 November.
During this time, crafters’ work will be advertised on the page, and buyers can contact the crafters directly to place an order. Most of the crafters are willing to courier to other parts of the country.
Crafters who have not yet been in touch with Beldon must please do so before 14:00 on Tuesday 24 November, by sending a WhatsApp to 083 415 6514 or an email to grandkaroo@gmail.com or countrymousedesign@gmail.com.
