HOFMEYR NUUS - Hofmeyr's TV star, Sesethu Ntombela, is going from strength to strength. Sesethu, whose name means "our special gift", has a special gift for acting and has appeared in Binnelanders, Sokhulu and Partners, Generations, Legacy and is currently on the small screen in the popular soapy, 7de Laan.
Sesethu attended primary school in Hofmeyr and completed matric in 2014 at Cradock High.
She always wanted to be a star and has realised her dream.
"Sesethu was the smiling child in our class, and she was brilliant in the drama group. A good leader, and her laugh always made us all laugh," recalls Rosalien Marais, a school friend.
"I loved being in Cradock High, and made many friends in Rocklands House, the boarding school. I started doing drama in Grade 10 under the expertise and guidance of Melina Smit," says Sesethu. She won numerous prizes for drama, debate, public speaking and music at school including the prestigious Van Gensen Floating Trophy three years in a row as the most versatile learner in cultural activities.
The Karien Brits trophy for public speaking also came her way, and she was awarded SA Colours in Land Service.
"After school, I was privileged to study BA in Drama and Film studies at the University of Pretoria. I have, since the completion of my studies in 2017, starred in numerous TV series, presented a show on Tuks Fm and recently started dubbing. You will also hear my voice as Dr Ali in Never Let Go on e.tv."
Not only does Sesethu dream of growth and progress in her career, but aims to live a fulfilling, happy life.
