GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Tim Clarke, owner of the Mrs Doubtfire vintage fire truck that provided the shuttle service between Graaff-Reinet and Nieu Bethesda during the 2022 Stoep Wine Tasting Festival, recently made a generous donation to the Siya Phambili shelter for abused women.
Siya Phambili is a non-profit organisation established with the objective of offering a safe haven, support and counselling for women experiencing trauma.
"It is an honour and a privilege to have received this donation," says founder of Siya Phambili, Sakkie van Zyl.
"The timing couldn't be more perfect as we were able to use the money to upgrade security at the shelter."
Van Zyl expressed his gratitude towards Rose Wright, organiser of the Stoep Wine Tasting Festival, who made this donation possible.
"We are also immensely grateful towards others who have been donating and, in particular, for the support of Montego who recently made a substantial contribution to the shelter.
Due to the generosity of various individuals and businesses, we almost have everything that we need at the shelter," he added.
