GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The premises of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS Academy in College Road were temporarily converted to a parade ground, on Friday morning, 23 November, to host a medal awarding ceremony for members of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS Academy as well as the Addo Tactical Academy.
Here, forty years of loyal service, thirty years of loyal service, 10 years of loyal service and centenary medals (1913 to 2013) were awarded amid much applause and fanfare.
Major General Hendrik Chauke, Component Head of In-Service Police Development, expressed his gratitude to the recipients of the medals while acknowledging that their accomplishments are noticeable and appreciated.
These medals were awarded to members who have displayed a loyal and untainted service of either four, three or one decade(s) respectively.
While most of the recipients of these medals are still within the service and employ of the SAPS, there were also a few retired members of the Graaff-Reinet SAPS Academy among the recipients.
Members of the SAPS were honoured for loyal service at a recent medal parade at the Graaff-Reinet SAPS Academy.
