GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) hosted a two-day road safety activation campaign in Graaff-Reinet on 15 and 16 December to promote road safety through its WHOA! Campaign.
Road safety is one of the pillars that underpin Sanral's Horizon 2030 strategy. Other Sanral strategic pillars are road, mobility and stakeholders.
Through the Road Safety Activation Sanral will raise road safety awareness and encourage behavioural change among all road users, including pedestrians and motorists.
Sanral will engage motorists and also use the platform to collect information that could help to improve its service delivery in the future.
Sanral's Road Safety Pillar initiatives came in for special recognition at the Vision Zero for Africa Conference of the International Road Federation (IRF) in 2020.
During the closing ceremony of the conference, the IRF officially recognised Sanral's road safety engineering efforts and awarded the roads agency the 2020 ''Find a Way' Global Road Safety Award.
Sanral hosted a two-day campaign in Graaff-Reinet to promote road safety and handed out energy drinks, masks and hand sanitisers to motorists.
