GRAAFF-REINET NEWS & VIDEO - Blood donation is currently underway at Te Watersaal in Gaaff-Reinet, where the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has paid the town a visit.
“It is important to donate blood to help save people’s lives,” said Tracy Petitt of Graaff-Reinet, who was donating blood for the 5th time. At the station next to her was regular donor Riaan Pieterse, also from Graaff-Reinet. “I’m just doing my part,” he explained.
According to Zikhona Ruiters, Donor Relations Practitioner, SANBS hopes to welcome at least 50 donors today, 17 August. Locals can visit the blood drive on Bourke Street until 16:00 today. Extra safety measures have been put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
