KAROO NUUS - Graaff-Reinet recently played host to the highly anticipated CVC (Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen) Planning Forum, organised by Round Table Eastern Province.
Held on 16 September at the Graaff Reinet Club, this event brought together Round Tablers from all parts of the Eastern Cape for a day of collaboration and inspiration.
The CVC Planning Forum proved to be a remarkable success, leaving participants and observers with a sense of achievement and excitement for the future.
The event started at 09:00 with discussions and activities aimed at fostering creativity and effective planning. Seasoned Tablers and newcomers to the Round Table family engaged in insightful conversations on a range of topics, from community initiatives to innovative projects.
One of the standout features of the forum was the opportunity for attendees to share their visions and ideas. Members brought their passion and innovative thinking to the table, contributing to the collective vision of Round Table Eastern Province. "It was truly inspiring to see how this diverse group of individuals came together to shape the future of the organisation in the Eastern Cape," says Thomas Sutherland, EP Area PRO.
Sutherland says that Graaff-Reinet has a rich history with Round Table. "The town once had its own Round Table Club (#26), with its first meeting held on 1 October 1953, and the charter meeting on 5 March 1955. The club used to convene its meetings on the first Thursday of each month at the Graaff-Reinet club.
This historical connection added a touch of nostalgia to the forum, reminding attendees of the enduring legacy of Round Table in the community.
The discussions and ideas generated during the forum will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on Round Table Eastern Province and the communities it serves."
For those who missed out on this year's forum, anticipation is already building for the next gathering.
Round Table looks forward to the promising initiatives and projects that will stem from the ideas and connections made on this memorable September day.
