GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Beloved Graaff-Reinet resident, dr Clinton Goliath (64), passed away on Monday morning 17 August, after falling ill three weeks before.
Goliath was born in Graaff-Reinet on 12 July 1956 and would go on to become a greatly loved and respected member of his community.
He obtained a masters degree (cum laude) and a doctorate in education, and taught at many institutions across South Africa, including Spandau Secondary in Graaff-Reinet. He also spent some time abroad in Saudi Arabia.
He obtained a qualification as moderator shortly before his passing.
According to family member Edwardine Abader, Goliath was planning to remain active in the education sector, even after his envisioned retirement next year. She added that he remained positive throughout his illness, and was confident of a full recovery.
A memorial drive in honour of his memory will be held on Springbok street, Kroonvale, on 28 August at 16:00.
The gathering point for this drive will be at the old swimming pool on Springbok Street at 15:30.
A private funeral service will be held on 29 August.
