BEAUFORT WEST NEWS - The Possession of Stolen Property case against 30 people who allegedly looted an overturned truck in the Beaufort West SAPS district is temporally withdrawn by the Beaufort West Magistrate's Court.
They were arrested near Leeu Gamka on 8 December last year, after looting an overturned truck that was transporting pet food.
Police spokesperson, Capt David de Klerk, said the case is withdrawn, pending an ongoing investigation.
With festive season roadblock near Beaufort West, 30 suspects, between the ages of 18 and 30, were arrested with pet food, taken from the looted truck, found in their vehicles. The value of the stolen property is estimated at R120 000.
They appeared in court on 9 December and 7 February.
On 20 February, the magistrate temporally withdrew the case to give the police time for thorough investigation.
