GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Ancient folklore considered owls to be symbols of wisdom, so it comes as no surprise that a beautiful barn owl has made itself at home at the Union Schools in Graaff-Reinet.
According to Mariëtte Burger, spokesperson for the school, the owl recently found a home underneath the Tony Burell building on the school grounds, in a protected corner.
"It has been an absolute delight for the learners and staff to catch a close-up of this enigmatic bird, which has been quite relaxed and restful despite the comings and goings of our learners," said Burger.
Hopefully, the majestic bird's appearance will encourage learners to study hard towards this year's exams.
