GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - According to the Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality, they are unaware of areas that are still without water.
"[We are only aware of] high-lying areas that continuously struggle with water supply," Acting Spokesperson Wilca Smith told the Advertiser on Monday.
The Advertiser received reports from at least 16 residents who had little to no running water on Monday. Affected areas included Cypress Grove, Meintjies Street, North Street, homes in Bergendal, and many more.
Smith asked that these residents contact the municipality to receive the correct feedback:
- Call centre – 049 807 5800
- berringtoni@bnlm.gov.za or 049 807 5910
- bokweg@bnlm.gov.za
- Jan Ernest (water cart driver) – 063 296 5145
- Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality Facebook page – Send a message to the page.
Smith stated that water will be supplied to areas without water during the heat wave expected to hit Graaff-Reinet and surrounds this week, "if the municipality is aware of the areas without water."
