MIDDELBURG NEWS - A popular and highly regarded police official from Middelburg SAPS, Warrant Officer Wendi Julius Banisi, died of Covid-19 on 20 January at Medi Clinic in Bloemfontein.
Born in Steynsburg on 14 July 1964, Banisi joined the South African Police Service in 1989 and served in Steynsburg, Middelburg, Molteno, Tarkastad and Hofmeyr, where he recently executed detached service duties as a detective officer. He obtained a Bachelor in Policing in 2019.
Banisi had a squeaky clean disciplinary record during his entire career and Chris Hani District Commissioner Major General Funeka Singaga, commended him for his faithful service.
Banisi leaves behind his wife, Nontuthuzelo Eunice and two children aged 25 and 29.
The funeral will take place at 09:00 on Thursday 28 January at 20 Du Plessis Street in Steynsburg.
