ABERDEEN NEWS - Aberdeen resident Nico Kemp is the new manager of Aalwynhof Home for the Aged in Aberdeen - the first time since the home opened in 1974 that a man is at the helm.
Since moving to Aberdeen two years ago from Johannesburg, Kemp has been involved in many projects in the town, including working as a volunteer at several Aalwynhof functions and fundraisers.
He has a strong background in the corporate world of administration, marketing and retail, but it is his love for people and friendly manner that has already endeared him to the residents and staff.
"We are so excited about his appointment," enthused Diane Nel, chairperson of the governing body, adding that Kemp has already come up with some great ideas for fundraising.
