GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Graaff-Reinet locals and visitors were excited last week to welcome SA National Parks Week, which allowed for free entry to many South African National Parks, including Graaff-Reinet's own Camdeboo National Park.
Initially only planned to be from Monday 16 November to Friday 20 November, nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts were in for a treat when the week was extended to include Saturday 21 November and Sunday 22 November.
Many took the opportunity for a breakaway, including 12 residents of the retirement home Huis van de Graaff, who paid a visit to the park on Tuesday.
"The residents were very excited to see the park and was also taken on a tour of the town and Valley of Desolation's surrounding," said Otto Sparrius on behalf of the home. The residents saw many animals, including springbok, kudu and many black wildebeest running around.
