GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — The Masonwasbisane Ladies Club, a local charity organisation consisting of nine ladies, recently gave back to learners in dire need.
This ladies charity club runs various projects throughout the year, benefiting communities in need in Graaff-Reinet and surrounding areas.
Most recently the ladies committed themselves to assist two learners each and took responsibility for providing these learners with both a winter and summer uniform, including school shoes in honour of 67 minutes for Mandela Day. This is an annual project of the Monwabisane Ladies Club.
The learners attend various schools such as Adendorp Primary School, Isibane Primary School, Themablesizwe Primary School and Narsing Straat Primary to name but a few.
All-rounder and organizer Zoleka Kali, feels it is their duty to give back to children facing the same circumstances she - as well as many other members of the group - experienced growing up. Being in the position to now give back to these communities is considered a privilege for the ladies group who have been operating since 2009.
