GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Shrove Tuesday, the day before the start of Lent, it is a tradition to eat pancakes - thought to have started so that people use up all their supplies of the foods that they will be giving up for the period of Lent.
St James Anglican Church in Somerset Street will be holding a Pancake Supper in the church hall on Tuesday, 5 March, at 18:30.
The savoury pancakes will have a tasty mince filling, and for those with a sweet tooth, there will be sweet pancakes liberally dusted with sugar and cinnamon.
All are welcome to come and enjoy the delicious food and stimulating company!
Takeaways are also available, and can be collected between 16:00 and 18:00. For orders, or more information, contact Evette on 049 891 8103 or 082 323 1573.
