GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Precarious workers from Graaff-Reinet and Willowmore in the Dr Beyers Naude local municipality are participating in an International Precarious Workers Platform in Mossel Bay this weekend.
The objective of the platform is to consolidate workers' struggles and promote unity and solidarity in taking these struggles forward.
The platform brings together precarious workers from the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng, as well as the autonomous region of Rojava in north-eastern Syria.
The event is hosted by the Support Centre for Land Change (SCLC) in collaboration with the Casual Workers Advice Office (CWAO) in Gauteng, the Association for Rural Advancement(AFRA) in KZN, and the International Labour Research and Information Group (lLRIG), Thsimani Siviwe, Surplus Peoples Project (SPP) and Women on Farms Project (WFP) in Cape Town.
