GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Graaff-Reinet Police visited Khanyisa Daycare Centre for Disabled Children as part of Causal Day on Friday 6 September.
Colonel Jonathan Van der Rheede, Lieutenant Colonel Nadia Nel, Captain Jenny Plaatjies, Admin Clerk Hans Plaatjies and Dominique Jooste were part of the visiting police team.
On arrival at the school, Principal Bukelwa Booysen took the police members on a tour of the various classrooms and education centres.
Booysen mentioned that, out of 168 children in Khanyisa Daycare Centre, 48 are disabled. She explained that all the children are taught various skills, which include glass paintings, glass staining, making of necklaces, music skills, and even gardening.
After the visit, Van der Rheede thanked Booysen and the ladies who assisted at the school, for their commitment, hard work, and spending time with the children in trying to make a difference in their lives.
