Burglaries
• On 8 June, between 1 am and 5 am, burglars broke the lock of the gate to gain entrance to the storage space at the Kroonvale cricket fields in Republic Street. Suspects stole doors, wheelbarrows, spades, forks and taps.
• During the period 4 to 9 June, a business' garage door was broken open and jewellery worth R10 000 was stolen.
• On 12 June, at approximately 01:40, a burglary was reported on North Street. A door was broken open and a laptop, jacket, two cellphones and cash were stolen.
• Between 12 and 14 June, a residence on Cradock Street was burgled. Entrance was gained through the bathroom window. The complainant reported computer accessories, jewellery and food stolen.
• The owner of a house in Nieu-Bethesda reported that he returned home on 13 June at 02:30 pm. He found a door was broken open and the inside of the house in disarray. He could not say if anything was stolen.
Possession of drugs
• On 13 June at 09:20, a quarter of a Mandrax tablet was found on a man on President Street, Kroonvale.
• Another quarter of a Mandrax tablet was found on a man on 14 June, at 01:10 am, on Vink Street, Asherville.
• Also on 14 June at 08:45 pm, a man was arrested for possession of a half of a Mandrax tablet on Rietbok Street, Santaville.
• At Mnandi Village, Umasizakhe, a man was arrested on 15 June at 02:20 am, for possession of a tik straw.
Theft out of a vehicle
Clothing worth R14 000 was stolen from a car in front of a business on Caledon Street, on 13 June, just before 1 pm.
Theft
A suspect, on 13 June at 6 pm, walked into a shop on Church Street and grabbed the owner’s cellphone and ran away.
Assault
• In a domestic-related assault, a woman was hit with the fist and with a stone on her head and back on Boog Street, Santaville. The incident happened on 14 June at 04:40 am.
• On 14 June at 06:40 pm, the police found an injured man lying on the ground in Eunice Kekana Village. He was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
Reckless driving
On 11 June at 02:10 pm, the driver of a vehicle wanted to turn right on the N9 between Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg. Another vehicle overtook him and they collided. One person was rushed to the hospital.
