GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts can look forward to SANParks' Park Week, which will take place from 16 to 20 November this year.
During this week, day visitors get free access to most of the 21 national parks, including local destinations such as the Camdeboo National Park and Mount Zebra National Park.
Parks not included are Namaqua National Park, Boulders Penguin Colony and the Table Mountain Cableway in Table Mountain National Park.
"[This week] is to encourage especially people from the local communities to visit parks, free of charge," read a statement by SANParks.
The free week usually falls in September, but due to Covid-19-regulations at the time, it has been postponed. According to SANParks, extra visitor management procedures have been implemented in the parks to manage visitor volumes in line with regulations.
Visitors are reminded that free access to the parks does not include accommodation or other tourist activities.
