GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — On Saturday, 14 April, Camdeboo Hospice will be having a Stoep Sale when they will be selling good quality household items, nearly-new clothing and a wide variety of books.
The sale will start at about 09:00 and continue until about 12 noon. This will take place on the Hospice stoep which is at 18 Church Square, on the corner of North Street and Church Square. Fabulous bargains are available including children’s clothes, curtains and bedding.
Then, on Friday, 20 April, from 8:00 till about 12 noon or until stocks are sold out, they will be having a cake (and probably book) sale in the Spandau Spar Arcade in Caledon Street.
The Board would like to appeal to the community to support the local hospice - by way of donating an item to sell (pot-plants also welcome), helping to man the stall or buying something - or all three.
The convenor for this is Val Loock, who can be contacted on 049 891 0585 or 084 514 7678.
The third forthcoming event is not for the faint-hearted: the seventh Annual Hike & Hobble which will take place over the weekend of 12 and 13 May.
Participants will be walking from the top of the Ouberg Mountain to Nieu Bethesda to raise much-needed funds for Hospice.
They are “walking for those who can’t”. If anyone would like to join this group and enjoy the camaraderie and scenery as they help the charity to support those living with life-limiting illnesses, or would like to provide sponsorship, the contact person is Maeve Strydom on 082 783 6254.
